Uneven
Midnight burns, glowing gold
Outside a warm breeze bellows
Hot touch leaving marks on glass
Chasing away stray thoughts past
Tip dripping, spots blossoming
Inkwell halved and well spent
Remembering of times forgotten
Of loneliness that lurks within
In the night, I am reminded of you
Rumpled clothes on uneven floors
Empty shells clattering like chains
Our love uncapped, souring to hate
Summer passes, winter withers
Yet, this ache I feel never settles.
