1st June 2020 – An online writing competition with a theme ‘A Letter to a Loved One’ was held by the Psychology Club of International Medical University. This competition was held for thirty days, from the 1st until 30th of May 2020, and was attended by 30 participants from various Universities such as International Medical University (IMU) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
This event was held in hopes that it could boost the spirit of the students and encourage their compassion and positivity throughout the pandemic with a stimulating activity, by letting them express their feelings for their loved one. Thirty days were given to the participants to finish and submit their work to the official email of IMU Psychology Club, and all of the submitted stories were read through and ranked by one of IMU lecturers, Dr. Sheba DMani. Out of the 30 stories submitted, 13 stories were selected to be in the final and were announced through email.
On 10th June 2020, the top 3 stories were selected as the winners through social media. The first, second, and third winners of the competition were rewarded with “best writing” E-certificate and cash prizes worth RM150, RM100, and RM50 respectively. Other than the top three winners, the E-certificates of “best writing” were also given out to the other ten winners.
